A Grants Pass City Council majority granted $316,294 in fee waivers this week for the 51-unit Nebraska Trail Apartments that are currently under construction near Nebraska Avenue and Ramsey Avenue. The complex in south Grants Pass will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments for low-income residents.

The Grants Pass City Council took action this week to boost the housing supply — waiving fees for an affordable housing complex, absorbing land into the city limits to spur home construction and creating a task force to streamline city development codes.

New Hope Christian senior guard Ava Barnett was recently named to the Class 1A all-state second team in girls' basketball.
Barnett led the Warriors (22-4) to the second round of the 1A state playoffs, where they lost 52-31 at Jordan Valley.
In her career, Barnett scored 2,090 points for New Hope. She averaged 23.4 points a game this season, scoring 30 or more in six games, with a top performance of 38 against Camas Valley.
